PHILLIP ISLAND
Phillip Island is a favourite destination for lovers of nature. See koalas and a colony of thousands of fur seals gathering on the rocks, at close range. Or attend Australia's most popular wildlife event – the parade of little penguins that make their way up the beach to their burrows each day at dusk.
Discover sheltered bay beaches, ideal for swimming, on the northern side of the Island and surf beaches suitable for beginners to advanced riders on the south coast. Take in views of the magnificent coastline and rock formations including the Nobbies, the Pinnacles and Pyramid Rock.
Devoted followers of motor sports should note that Phillip Island is the venue for the annual Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, held over three days in September or October.
